My name is Dr. Ozi, and I am a wife, mom, scientist, podcaster, and author based in Nashville, TN, USA. In 2010 I moved to the United States as a graduate student. Upon completing my degree, I decided I wanted to continue living and working in the United States as a scientist. I soon found that the U.S. government already had a route to permanent residency for people like me.
So, in 2019, I successfully self-petitioned for a U.S. Green Card Through the merit-based Employment-Based Second Preference National Interest Waiver Category (EB2NIW) and went from a student visa status to a U.S. permanent Resident. I did so without the services of a lawyer or sponsor.
